What are your plans to deal with and prevent gun violence?
Criminal penalties for using a gun to commit a crime must be sure and swift. I do not favor limiting the rights of lawful citizens to keep and bear arms.
What, if any, steps should our country take concerning immigration policies?
Immigration should be measured and orderly. Illegal immigration must not be tolerated. Open borders are a national security risk.
What, if any, steps should our country take concerning healthcare and healthcare access?
The government should get out of the healthcare business. Free enterprise should be allowed to operate in the healthcare sector. Any government action necessarily distorts the free market, creating a new problem.
What is the most important challenge facing our country? How do you propose to address the challenge?
The national debt is the most important challenge facing our country. Government spending must be drastically reduced, immediately. The size and scope of government must be greatly reduced. Our huge national debt cripples our economy. America needs to have a strong economy.
What are your priorities concerning the U.S. economy? How do these priorities affect Kansas?
I believe in drastically reducing the size and scope of government. Doing so will allow the U.S. economy to flourish throughout the country, including Kansas.
What measures do you support to secure elections and set voting policies and rights in our country?
I believe that, with a limited exception for absentee ballots, voters should vote on Election Day. I think paper ballots should be used and the counting of votes should be made public. I favor ranked choice voting and fusion voting. I favor greater ballot access for political parties and think all of them should be treated the same.
What, if any, steps should our country take concerning campaign financing and the influence of money in politics?
Campaign finance laws limit freedom of speech, so I oppose them.
