School Funding
Illinois covers just 24.5% of local school budgets, down from 27% when JB Pritzker took office. The national average is 45%.
Property Taxes
Illinois is in a race with New Jersey over who levies the highest property taxes in the country. A race we all lose.
Affordability
Illinois is too unaffordable. In a recent survey, 21% of Illinoisans said the state is affordable compared to 57% who said it is too expensive.
Unfunded Mandates
Every year, Springfield politicians push costs onto local governments, who must then raise property taxes to fund them. In 2025 alone, the state forced 44 new unfunded mandates onto local communities. In 2026, another 133 were proposed just on municipal governments. 699 mandates for schools have been added since 1982.
DCFS
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is failing our most vulnerable kids. There are over 1,200 stories of children like AJ Freund and Amaria Osby in Illinois over the past eight years, and 3,000 more if you count serious injuries.
Platform Approach
This plan is not a dreamer’s wish list or pie-in-the-sky alternate reality. It’s a plan rooted in common sense and feasibility.
Collin Corbett is not a current member of Congress, so there is no congressional roll-call record to show. State legislative or local records are not yet compiled.
