Immigration & border

What legislation would you enact to address the immigration issues facing this country?

Trump’s cruel immigration agenda has gone way too far, allowing unqualified, unaccountable Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to terrorize entire communities. That’s why I have introduced legislation to create an oversight body to monitor abuses by ICE and prevent those officers from entering vulnerable locations, such as schools and hospitals. We need to restore fairness and justice to the American immigration system, which is why I have cosponsored several immigration reform bills and will continue to work to fix these issues once and for all.

Health care

Health care

Chris believes everyone should have access to quality, affordable health care, which is why he has fought against Trump’s threats to the Affordable Care Act and Medicaid. He has also worked to protect Delaware’s hospitals, reduce overcrowding in Emergency Departments, and increase access to innovative treatments.

Energy & environment

What federal policies or actions do you support that would reduce the impact of climate change?

Delaware is America’s lowest-lying state, and we have no time to waste in addressing the threat of climate change and the challenges it poses. That is why I lead the bipartisan Climate Solutions Caucus and work every day to ensure our state and our country are prepared for the climate-fueled disasters of the present while mitigating the worsening of climate change. I am committed to making Delaware a hub of new, clean energy technology that will create jobs and keep costs down for families while reducing emissions.

Delaware and our country face big challenges. Costs are too high. It’s getting even harder to access quality, affordable health care. Families are feeling the squeeze when they go to the grocery store, plan for their kids’ future, and look ahead to retirement.

Farms & rural

Many people think our federal government is broken. What aspects (if any) of the way the U.S. Congressional branch operates would you change if you could?

Too many Americans believe their government doesn’t work for them, which is why I am committed to leading with integrity and rebuilding a sense of fairness in our system, from holding my colleagues accountable as the Vice Chair of the Senate Ethics Committee to legislating on judicial ethics reforms.

Elections, ethics & government

What measures do you support to improve and secure elections and voting?

Americans should have confidence in the security of our federal election system, which is why I am deeply concerned about efforts from President Trump to sow distrust in our electoral system. I have grilled senior administration officials about the possibility of Trump escalating these efforts ahead of November’s elections, spoken out against his executive orders against mail-in voting, and continue to work closely with my colleagues to protect the security of our elections.

Families & communities

What are the most important challenges facing our country, and how do you propose to address them?

Far too many families are feeling the squeeze when they go to the grocery store, plan for their kids’ future, and look ahead to retirement. I’m focused on stopping Trump’s toxic agenda, from his war in Iran that has spiked costs for families and eroded our standing in the world, to his rampant corruption that has enriched himself, his businesses, and his family. These policies are hurting Americans, and there’s more we can do to lower costs and give Delawareans peace of mind about our future.
