Healthcare

Every Coloradan should have quality health care they can afford. Yet costs keep rising, and access is out of reach for too many. As governor, I will: Launch a Health Care Stabilization & Innovation Task Force to protect communities from federal cuts now, and develop paths to longer term advances in cost and quality.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Youth mental health is a top priority of mine and is an issue I am very passionate about. I will champion initiatives that provide mentorship for young Coloradans, address the harms of social media and cell phones, use Colorado’s great outdoors to support youth mental health and resiliency, and increase access to mental healthcare for young people. Building on the work I've done as AG, including leading a 35-state lawsuit against Meta for creating an addictive platform that harms our youth, I will sign legislation to clamp down on social media companies that fail to protect kids from illegal …

Taxes & spending

Governors have many responsibilities, which vary from state to state. Which of those do you personally consider the most important in your state?

The state budget has grown significantly in recent years—both in size and complexity. This growth was also driven by major one-time funding from the federal government. But those one-time resources are now gone, and the reckless OBBBA/H.R. 1 enacted by Congress means that Colorado had to fill a billion dollar budget hole—and is slated for more drastic cuts in fiscal years to come. When doing the hard work to balance this challenging budget, I will do so with the principle that K-12 education and healthcare are protected at all costs. Rather, any budget reductions should be made with a clear …

Affordable Homes and Communities

All Coloradans deserve a safe, affordable place to call home. Yet too many families are forced to choose between housing and essentials like childcare or healthcare. As governor, I will: Boost homes Coloradans can afford, increasing attainable owner-occupied homes by 40,000 , closing the current gap on the shortfall on such homes by 50%.

Background & priorities

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

As the Trump administration continues to abuse federal agencies for political retaliation, withhold critical federal dollars to coerce states to adopt their policies, illegally fire critical federal workers, unlawfully punish our state for our voting laws, or send federal troops into American cities, we need a governor who will stand strong against this lawless bullying. I’ve led that fight as your attorney general by filing more than 60 lawsuits and winning, and I will continue it as your next governor. I will do everything in my power to maintain our way of life, our economy, the …

I have secured more than 200 endorsements, earning the support of more current and former state and local elected officials than any other candidate.
